Regardless of your phone’s make and model, there’s probably an emergency SOS feature built in — something you’ll hopefully never need to use, but be aware of, just in case.
Emergency SOS works in a similar way on mobile platforms, as we’ll outline below. Whether you’re dealing with a medical emergency or other safety concerns, the main purpose is to let emergency services and your trusted contacts know you’re in trouble and where you are.
If you’re using an iPhone, the Emergency SOS feature lets you quickly call emergency services in whatever country you’re in and let one or more of your chosen contacts know you need help. First you need to set up those contacts. In the Health app, tap your profile picture, then choose Medical ID.
Tap Edit, then under the Emergency Contacts heading, select Add Emergency Contact to choose one or more names from your address book. These people will be notified when you have used the Emergency SOS feature and they will send your current location. Tap Done when you’re done.
You can set Emergency SOS to work semi-automatically on iOS.

In either case, you will see a short countdown before the call is made.
To actually access the Emergency SOS feature, press and hold the side button and one of the volume buttons, then use the Emergency SOS slider, which will call the emergency services in your area. You can also press and hold the side button and the volume button if you have previously enabled Call waiting.

If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone, you can set up the Emergency SOS feature by going to the main Settings app and choosing Safety & Emergencies. Turn on the Send SOS message switch to configure how many times you need to press the side button quickly to enable the feature.
